We rented a small boat early in the morning to sail on the Sea of Galilee. The water was as calm as a mirror, and the rising sun colored the lake gold. Daniel and I drank coffee and laughed about old memories from school. All of a sudden, after about an hour, the wind picked up and the waves rose unexpectedly. Heavy clouds covered the sky, and the temperature dropped within a few minutes. Daniel turned the boat back toward shore, and the two of us rowed with all our strength. When we reached the shore, completely soaked but healthy and unharmed, we couldn't stop laughing from sheer relief. Sometimes the lake reminds you that even peaceful places have dangerous moments.
