Bet has a small foot kicking out to the lower-right; Kaf is one smooth curve, no foot.
Memory cue: “Bet has a Boot.”

Dalet · Resh
Dalet has a sharp top-right corner that juts out; Resh has a soft rounded shoulder.
Memory cue: “Dalet’s Door has a corner.”

He · Chet · Tav
He has a floating left leg (gap at the top-left). Chet is closed across the top with two equal straight legs. Tav is closed across the top with a small hook at the bottom of the left leg.
Memory cue: “He hovers, Chet has a ceiling, Tav has a tail.”

Vav · Zayin · Final Nun
Vav is a short straight stick sitting on the baseline. Zayin is the same height but with a wider head extending to both sides. Final Nun is a long straight stick that drops well below the baseline.
Memory cue: “Zayin wears a wide hat; Final Nun dives below the line.”

Samekh · Final Mem
Samekh is fully rounded like an O. Final Mem is square — flat top, flat bottom, sharp corners.
Memory cue: “Samekh = circle, Final Mem = box.”

Ayin · Tsadi
Ayin is a Y-shape that opens upward with a curved base. Tsadi’s left stroke hooks back and joins the right stroke at the baseline.
Memory cue: “Ayin opens up, Tsadi tucks in.”

Gimel · Nun
Gimel has a small leg kicking to the lower-left below the body. Nun is a smooth hook with no leg.
Memory cue: “Gimel kicks, Nun just curls.”
